Robert A. Quidley

Robert Quidley (Bob) was born on September 6, 1943, in Kesington Jamaica to parents Etimo Quidley and Doris Johnson. Bob completed his studies in Jamaica, and after graduating from high school, worked in the health care industry. In 1978 Bob immigrated to the United States and immediately started working as an Assistant Manager at Carlton Terrace in Miami Beach. Bob remained at Carlton for over 20 years as a maintenance manager while making a difference in the lives of his clients and his staff on a daily basis. During his tenure at Carlton Terrace, Bob met his beautiful wife in an elevator, and it was love at first sight. At which time, he told Emilia, you will be my wife. That was the beginning of a beautiful life together. Bob and Mimie started dating in 1982, and married in 1987and shared a beautiful life together for 42 years. Bob was a caring, passionate and respectful husband. He was an avid debater, and made attempts to win every argument. He was a lawyer at heart. But, most importantly Bob was a man who loved God and continuously proclaimed his goodness to whomever he met. Bob attended Trinity Church for more than 10 years, he served as a board member, a deacon, and also was a member of the proclaimed Trinity choir. In search for a more peaceful life, Bob left South Florida and moved to Lakeland in 2004 to enjoy his retirement and a slower pace. Bob loved everyone, and everyone was either a friend or a family member. He lived to tell others about God, and the life he lived brought joy, comfort and love to many. Bob continued to serve God as well as others at Family Worship Center as a board member until his last days. Bob was a beautiful person who spread joy and happiness wherever he went. Bob fell ill with dementia in 2022, and progressively got worse until he succumbed to the disease on July 22 2023 in Lakeland Florida, on Hospice care. Bob is survived by his wife Emilia Quidley, daughter Christine, his son Wesley junior whom he raised at 4 months old, two grandchildren Nicky and Dante, a step son Wesley senior, sisters Maureen and Ivy, sister in law Dieula Dolce, and a host of other relatives and dear friends. Bob, although we will miss you, I know you are wearing the crown that you work so hard for. Well done my faithful servant. Well done !!. May your soul Rest in Peace, Because I know there is no sickness, pain and sorrow in heaven. Rest in Peace my loving Husband.
