Marie C. Lascaze

Cleomène Lascaze was born in Aux Cayes, Haiti, on May 14th, 1932, to her father Dieudonné Lascaze and her mother Elionor Louis. She was the youngest of four children. Cleomène attended primary school in Aux Cayes, and grew up in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she received the remainder of her formal education. She later learned the art of commerce and became an entrepreneur, finding success in opening up her own shoe store. Early in her life, Cleomène accepted Jesus Christ as her personal lord and savior. During this time Cleomène was blessed with three daughters, Marie, Carole, & Nancy. She not only worked hard to provide for her children, but she also ensured that they received a formal education in Haiti. She later aided them in immigrating to the United States. She was a loving mother and made frequent visits to the United States to see her children and grandchildren throughout the years, until she made the decision to permanently move to Miami, Florida in early 2000’s. She stood strong as the matriarch of the family, instilling godly values, work ethics, and resiliency in her children. Equipping them with the necessary tools to achieve their set goals in life. Many relatives and other acquaintances looked up to Cleomène as their adoptive mother, thanks to her constant generosity and benevolent attitude. On Thursday, August 29th, 2024, Cleomène went home to be with the lord, in the presence of loved ones, at the miraculous age of ninety-two. Cleomène is survived by her daughters: Marie Jocelyne Desmarais, Carole Saint Clair and Nancy Thomas. And by her adopted nephew Joel St. Louis. Her grandchildren: Thonny Neret, Sheila Vincent, Marjory Neret, Clucia Cleomène Fowlkes, Catherine Lorfils, Jerry Carl Saint Clair, Jessica Saint Clair, Rodneyca Raymond, Rodney Raymond and Ruislet Jean Philippe, Jr. Her great grandchildren: Makèl Teren Young, Jayla Natalie Neret, Alicia Vincent, Alani Love Fowlkes, Marlene Vincent and Kamryn Louis. She attended Eagles Temple Church where her and daughter Carole worshipped the Lord together for years. She will not only be missed by her family, but also by many close friends and loved ones. May her soul rest in peace until we see her again.
