A TIME TO BE BORN Maria-dite Elta Durozin Destin was born on September 23, 1947, in Au Cotteaux, Haiti to the late Absoly Durozin and Rosina St. Val. A TIME TO GROW Mommy was well educated and did not complete High School, but her practice was to ensure her children were educated by encouraging them to expand their knowledge. A TIME TO LOVE Mommy and Daddy grew up in the village of Au Cotteaux, Haiti. Daddys’ family relocated to Port Au Prince in hopes of a better lifestyle, searching to make the family’s dreams come true. While visiting in Port Au Prince, our parents through fate, met. Their relationship from young blossomed and they fell in love. This union was blessed with three children: Sonia, Jimmy and Adonia. A Time to Work Mommy was our family’s first entrepreneur by selling groceries from her home. This lucrative business permitted her to raise and provide for her family. She also taught her children to be entrepreneurs through her labor and her love. A TIME TO SERVE Mommy was devoted to her faith and her church. She gave from her heart whatever she had, to make life sweeter. She did not mind giving of herself because her heart was bigger than the ocean. She served in her choir, as an usher and volunteered whenever needed. Her love of Christ ordered her steps, and this was passed on to her children and grandchildren. A time to Die Mommy fought the good fight and answered God’s call on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 10:00 PM. She was surrounded by family. She visited her son to say I’m going home as she left this life to earn her wings. Well done, Mommy, you gave of yourself with all your heart, living each day for God and your family. She is at peace and no more pain. Sleep in heavenly peace Mommy. You will be truly missed and forever in our hearts.
