Irelia Louis

Irelia Brunache Louis passed on Monday, November 21, 2022, at the age of 87. After years of declining health, Irelia died peacefully at home with her daughters and grandchildren by her side. In 2007, Irelia suffered a stroke which greatly impacted her ability to communicate and compromised her ability to travel and fully continue working as an international trader and salesperson between the U.S. and Haiti because there is a need and want of goods or services. Irelia was born in Jeremie, Haiti to father, Dumarsais Brunache, and mother, Loria Xavier. The youngest of four siblings, Irelia did not have the opportunity for much formal education. However, she understood the importance of a formal education and made sure all of her children had a formal education. Everyone who knew Irelia felt her big heart and giving nature. Irelia was best known for her kindness, her hospitality, her quick-witted humor, fierce determination, and generous spirit. She cared deeply about everyone in her life and loved her family and friends and was a great person in every way. Her work ethic is as just as strong and as fierce as her love. Irelia was industrious and diligent in carrying out every single tasks and duties given to her. Irelia was a very hard working person with a strong sense of self and the knowledge that she was always doing the best for her family to make a positive impact on their professional and personal lives. Irelia looked to cook. Some of the best times spent together as a family always included a meal. She was always ready for any opportunity to put on a big meal. Every meal was a feast, an experience for the eyes, mouth and ears because she would always delight everyone with jokes, riddles, stories of folklores, and fairytales. She will be missed especially by her seven grandchildren, with whom she spent countless hours playing and doing various activities. Irelia was a huge fan of music. You can always find her singing along or tapping her fingers to some beats. Irelia is survived by her husband Joseph Gesner Louis, her three children, Parnel, Myriam, and Patt Louis; her grandchildren, Andre, Starla, Giovanni, Gianni, Sydney, Ethan, and London, along with many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will forever be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.
