Estella Augustin

We gather here today to celebrate the extraordinary life of Estella Augustin, a woman who has left an indelible mark on our hearts and whose memories will live on forever. Estella was more than a grandmother; she was the matriarch of our family, the guiding light that brought us together in times of joy and moments of sorrow. Her life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit and the power of love. Born on May 20, 1934, she grew up in Plaine du cul-de Sac. She was a beloved daughter and sister to her late parents and siblings. Unfortunately lost her parents early on in life. She had to mature quickly to provide for herself. She got married in the mid-1960s to the late Louis Alexis. She was a mother to nine children with the the two living ones being Mackinton Augustin & Julienne Louis Joncka. She was a grandmother of ten and a great-grandmother of six. She loved her familv and had a heart for service. As a mother, she was a pillar of strength, raising her children with unwavering love. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and laughter, a place where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. The legacy she leaves behind in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren is a testament to her nurturing spirit. She did not have an easy life, but she was resilient and grateful to God for every blessing that he provided to her. She taught us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope if we hold on to Jesus. She was passionate about the Lord, and she carried the burden of lost souls. She would always participate in evangelism to win more souls for Jesus. She always sided with the truth no matter who was involved. She was a woman of integrity and a great giver. She always had a list of people to bless one way or another with her clothes, money, and great food. She was disciplined and straightforward but also very playful. She had a way of making everyone feel special. In her later years, as a grandmother and great-grandmother, she continued to be a source of love, inspiration, and laughter. Her eyes would light up at the sight of her family, and her smile could melt the hardest of hearts. Today, as we honor the life of our mother, grandmother & great-grandmother we find consolation in the knowledge that her love and legacy will live on in each of us who she has touched with her love, wisdom, strength, resilience, and faith. We will carry forward the lessons she taught us - the importance of family, the value of kindness, and the beauty of a lift well-lived in Jesus.
