Marie Annicie Jocelyn

Marie Annicie Jocelyn was born in Jeremie, Haiti on April 19, 1940 to father Merisier Jules and mother Anna Sanon. During her youth, the loss of her parents did not give her much opportunity for formal education. Despite limited education, she was extremely intelligent and valued education. In 1962, she met her husband, Charles Jocelyn. Together, they raised three children. In 1995, she moved to the United States seeking better opportunities for her family and herself. Becoming a US citizen was one of her greatest accomplishments. While in the United States, she primarily worked as a housekeeper. In 2007, Marie faced health complications that compromised her ability to work. Despite this, her health did not inhibit her drive and passion to support her loved ones. Since then, her priority was taking care of her home and her family. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her grandchildren who are her pride and joy. She really liked watching sports such as soccer and football. She also enjoyed attending her church Emmanuel Haitian Baptist Church. She loved going to missionary trips and visiting the ill. She truly possessed a heart of service. Marie is survived by her husband Charles Jocelyn; children Marie Florence Jocelyn, Charles Jr. Jocelyn, and Edson Jocelyn; daughter in laws Gertrude Jocelyn and Daphenee Jocelyn; and grandchildren David Bien-Aime, Elmire Bien-Aime, Reina Jocelyn, Cheryce Jocelyn, Daniel Jocelyn, Chris Jocelyn, Isaiah Jocelyn and Isaac Jocelyn.
