Willy Desmaret

It is with profound sorrow and immense love that we announce the passing of Willy Desmaret, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 61. Willy was born in Miragoane, Haiti to Jeanne Ermina Fiac and Pauleus Desmaret. He was the 2nd of seven children in the Desmaret family. He attended Le Normalien school and graduated High School at the age of 19. Following this, he decided to spread his wings and ventured off to France. In France, he maintained steadfast determination and an independent soul, that allowed him to embrace life to the fullest. He lived there for a few years until he met his first wife, Carole. They moved to New York City, NY and shortly after the love of their life was born, Kerline. Willy was a true hard worker at heart. He mastered the realms of repairing houses and woodworking. His creative touch brought life and beauty to every project he undertook. Which led him to meet his second partner in life, Mimerose. Soon following the joy of their life was born, Yasmine. Following the great pleasure of raising two children, Willy sought to fulfill his desire to live in a small town and breathe peace and tranquility. He found a quiet town near Albany, New York called Troy. He embarked on this new path by creating his own cleaning company. He created this opportunity to work with his heart and gained lots of respect and friends, which many referred to him as their ‘best friend’. While living in Troy, NY he met his third and last love, Mona. Willy made Troy his home until his last day on Earth. Willy had a zest for life and work that brought him immeasurably joy. Traveling was another one of his passions. He embraced the spirit of adventure often as he traveled back to Haiti and France, a place he also called home. However, his most cherished role was being a father and grandfather. He leaves behind his daughters: the love and joys of his life, Kerline, and Yasmine, as well as, sons-in-law: Jonathan and Joshua Sr.; his grandchildren: whom he adored, Lochlan, Joshua Jr., Nova, and Lucien. He also is survived by his brothers: Odin, Paul, Hollant, William, and Eric, and numerous nieces and nephews. Willy was a man of warmth and firm faith, whose life journey was a testament to his strength, compassion, and love of family and friends. His deep faith and commitment to his community were hallmarks of his life. May you remember his legacy as one of unwavering love, resilience, and faith, teaching us to cherish life’s simple joys and to live with purpose and grace. May you remember his beautiful smile. As we remember Willy, we celebrate the in-erasable mark he left on our lives. His spirit continues to inspire and guide us, and his memory will forever be a source of comfort and strength. Willy, your memory will forever be stamped in our hearts. Rest in eternal peace.
