Michele Malebranche Debrosse

Michele Debrosse, age 67, died in Port-au-Prince Haiti on June 10, 2023. Michele was born to parents: Gerard and Elvire Malebranche. She was born In Port Au Prince, Haiti on March 1, 1956. Michele migrated to Brooklyn, NY with her father and siblings in 1971 at the age of 15. She attended James Madison High and later Brooklyn College where she received her degree in Psychology. She went on to work in New York, and Miami but her yearning to go back home had her move back to Haiti in 1982 at the age of 26. In Haiti, she gained employment working with the disabled and that’s when her love for helping the needy and underprivileged in her country was born. She went on to spend many years doing philanthropic work in her country. Michele went on to have two biological children, her eldest daughter Carmel Legros also known as Boobie and her son Samuel Debrosse affectionately known to her as Tonton. Michele also gained two children by marriage: John and Nini Debrosse whom she loved very much. Michele gained employment at the International Airport of Haiti (Autorité Aéroportuaire Nationale) where she occupied various functions from the Administration of the diplomatic lounge, the Management of the reception crew and later assuming the function of Human Relations and Facilitator. She remained employed at the Airport until her death or after 30 years of dedicated service. Michele was preceded in death by her loving husband Guy Debrosse, Father Gerard Malebranche, Mother Elvire Malebranche; her predeceased siblings: Jean Gerard Malebranche, Jean Luc Malebranche, and Gabrielle Rimpel, and Aunt Violette Malebranche. Michele is survived by her children: Carmel Legros, Samuel Debrosse and her children in marriage John Debrosse and Nini Debrosse. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Issac, Isaiah, Ian and Ino Debrosse, Daphne Jaar and Jordan Lopez, Aspen Preston and Sanaya and Sylas Debrosse. She is also survived by her siblings: Florence Malebranche Leon Paul, Mireille Malebranche, George Malebranche, Ernest Malebranche; her aunts: Pierrette Malebranche, Maude Malebranche, and Janine Malebranche. Also, many nieces and nephews too many to mention, loving cousins and many friends.
