MARIE ANNA SENEXANT

Born on a beautiful day of May 3rd, 1963, in the small, vibrant town of Oboy, Cote de Fe, Marie Anna Desir (Nann) was the fifth of eleven children and a twin. Raised by her parents, Marie Noel and Ducas Desir, she grew up surrounded by love and guided by strong values of hard work, compassion, love, and faith. From an early age, she was a sweet, creative soul who loved sewing, styling hair, and cooking for her family and friends. Thanks to Madam Pavilion, she learned to sew and found a love for mending and helping others with their clothes, slowly making a living out of it. A devoted believer in God, Marie’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. At 15, she chose to be baptized, a significant milestone in her spiritual journey. An active member of her church community, she sang in the church choir in Haiti and regularly attended services in the city of Ocap. Her involvement in the choir deepened her faith and allowed her to express her love for God through music. In her youth, Marie met the love of her life, Duly Senexant, in the same village. Their bond blossomed at a young age, and everyone around them cherished their connection, often playing matchmaker and supporting their relationship over the years. On December 23rd, 1989, they married, embarking on a journey that would last 34 years. This love story became an important part of Marie’s life, complementing her warm spirit and nurturing love. Every anniversary it was a tradition to continue to express their love by going on a cruise just for themselves. Away from the burden, stress, and children. All to be focused on continuing the love that she grew with her husband. On November 17, 1997, Marie brought her blossom, and her own shining light as she migrated to Miami, Florida, seeking new opportunities and experiences. To continue her education and learn English, she attended Biscayne Gardens, Lindsey Hopkins School, and North Miami. Her determination to adapt to a new environment while maintaining her cultural roots illustrates her resilience and commitment to personal growth not only for herself but for her family. Marie became a proud mother of three children: Destiny, Wilkins, and Tarlisha. She was a loving daughter, cousin, niece, wife, aunt, and mother who would do anything for her children. As a devoted family woman, she loved everyone deeply, and her children became her pride and joy, further enriching her life and deepening her commitment to family. Known for her amazing food, Marie created a business called “Ti Pa Ti Pa,” where she showcased her love for cooking. Through this venture, she shared her culinary creations with others, bringing the community together and fostering connections through the joy of food. She also had a special talent for making the best Haitian drink called kremas, which was a beloved favorite among family and friends. In her professional journey, Marie began working at ABC Warehouse before pursuing her supervisor certification at Oak Grove. She then joined Sonesta, a prominent hotel company, where she worked from 2008 to 2018. Her dedication and hard work during her time at Sonesta contributed to her personal and professional growth. In 2012, she achieved a significant milestone by obtaining her U.S. citizenship, further solidifying her commitment to her new home. In 2017, Marie was diagnosed with colon cancer, beginning a challenging chapter in her life. She fought aggressively for seven years and, in 2020, was declared cancer-free, starting to regain her strength and joy. However, in 2022, her cancer returned. Despite the challenges she faced, Marie never gave up and has continued to fight ever since, always holding onto her faith in God as her guiding light through the trials she endures. She entered with God always on her shoulder and she left with him trailing in front of her leading her to where she belongs, with him. She will always be loved, cherished, and remembered as the greatest woman God created all known as Marie Anna Senexant.
