“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die: a time to plan, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.” - Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 We gather today not only to grieve the passing of a beloved soul, Marcelle Laguerre Cesar, but also to give thanks to God for her life. Marcelle was a person of immense faith, love, and compassion. Marcelle Laguerre Cesar, 74, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at her home in North Miami, Florida. Marcelle was born December 18, 1949, to the late Marcel Laguerre and Jeanne Baguidy in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She was the fourth child in which 5 children were born: Rose-Marie Laguerre Celestin, Maryse Laguerre Mandarino, Jocelyne Laguerre St. Rose, and Elsie Laguerre Jean Louis. Marcelle graduated from Collège Classique Séminaire in 1967 and continued her study at the school of culinary and the school of cosmetology of Germaine Pierre Louis where she completed her certificate in both programs. She also attended the Julien Craan School of Business and completed the certificate program in business that led to her career in entrepreneurship where she traveled throughout south America in the 1970s until she migrated to the United States. She shared her heart with those around her, always offering a helping hand, a kind word, and a prayerful presence. She was devoted to her family, her faith, and her community, and through her actions, she radiated the love of Christ. Her journey of life reflected God’s grace, as she embraced both joys and challenges with a deep trust in God’s plan. She now rests in the arms of the Lord, free from all pain and suffering, as she is welcomed into eternal peace. Marcelle is survived by her daughters, Yves Juste, Lourdes-mia Hereaux; her sons, Fabrice Laguerre, Alan Sajous. She loved her six grandchildren, Shakira, Tahj, Yssis, Logan, Nicholas, and Omario. Marcelle also leaves, godchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, though too numerous to mention but loved by the same. Let us continue to celebrate her life, her kindness, and her unwavering faith, knowing that her spirit remains with us, guiding and protecting us until we meet again in God’s kingdom. Mom, it broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For, part of us went with you, the day God called you home. A precious one from us is go ne, a voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our hearts, which never can be filled.
