In Loving Memory of Jean Antony Verrier July 29, 1932 – June 9, 2026 With deep sorrow and profound gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Jean Antony Verrier announces his peaceful passing on June 9, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on July 29, 1932, in Latibolière, Jérémie, Haiti, Jean Antony Verrier was the beloved son of Iram Verrier and Silverine Mars Verrier. Following the loss of his mother at a young age, he demonstrated remarkable resilience by continuing his education in L'Asile before later moving to Port-au-Prince. Those early experiences helped shape the quiet strength, humility, perseverance, and unwavering faith that would define his life. On April 28, 1963, Jean married the love of his life, Marie Verrier, with whom he shared more than six decades of marriage built on faith, love, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to family. Their marriage was a beautiful testimony of partnership and commitment until Marie's passing in 2023. In 1967, through the faithful witness of his wife, Jean accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. That decision transformed the course of his life and became the foundation upon which he faithfully served God, his family, and his community for more than six decades. In 1972, Jean immigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, where he reunited with his wife and was later joined by their four children. Throughout his years in Boston, he worked at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, Stone & Webster Engineering, and later as a taxi driver until his retirement. Beyond his professional career, he faithfully served at First Haitian Baptist Church as a Sunday School teacher, deacon, and participant in outreach ministries throughout the Boston and Worcester communities. In 2008, Jean and Marie relocated to Miami, Florida, where they became devoted members of Adonai Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Malo Valcin. There, he continued his faithful service as a deacon. Even as declining health limited his mobility, his commitment to the Lord never wavered. He faithfully worshiped through the church's online ministry each Sunday and, despite significant health challenges, attended one final Easter service with his church family. While his faithful service to the church was significant, those who knew Jean best will remember him first as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, trusted friend, mentor, and quiet servant of God. Jean believed deeply in education, lifelong learning, and although he loved his adopted country, he strongly believed in preserving Haitian history, culture, and language. He encouraged thoughtful conversation, treasured books, and made it his mission to ensure his children never forgot where they came from or the values upon which they were raised. He led not through loud words, but through consistent example, quiet wisdom, and steadfast integrity. His greatest ministry was his family. He cared for his beloved wife with extraordinary love and devotion throughout their marriage, faithfully standing beside her through every season of life. His children knew him as a father who was always present—teaching, encouraging, supporting, and demonstrating through his own life what faith, responsibility, humility, and unconditional love truly looked like. Jean is lovingly remembered by his children, Pierre Richard Verrier, Marguy Verrier, Guerdy Verrier, and Carline Verrier; his beloved niece, Leonne Mars, whom he lovingly raised as his own daughter; his grandchildren, Guershelyne Michel, Bianca Verrier, Richkaard Verrier, and Fabienne Verrier; his great-grandson, Roman Carter Verrier; his extended family; and countless relatives, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives were enriched by his kindness, wisdom, generosity, and faithful example. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, family and friends gathered at Adonai Baptist Church in North Miami, Florida, to celebrate his life, honor his legacy, and give thanks for the immeasurable impact he made on all who knew him. Although his family deeply mourns his passing, they rejoice in the blessed assurance that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Marie, and is forever in the presence of the Lord he faithfully served throughout his life. Jean Antony Verrier's life stands as a testimony that true greatness is not measured by titles or recognition, but by faithfulness—to God, to family, and to others. His legacy of faith, integrity, service, compassion, and love will continue to inspire future generations of the Verrier family. "Well done, good and faithful servant...
