Golda Myrnelle Abagail Balsingh’s July 14,1983- December 22, 2022 Born in Pointe-a-Pierre San Fernanado, Trinidad, Myrnelle migrated to the US at six years old. She grew up in Ohio and later moved to Tampa where she finished high school and met her best friend Kenerly Saint-Vill. After living in Key West, she eventually landed in Miami where she built a life centered around love, friends, and community. Myrnelle was a true creative. A talented actress, singer-songwriter, award winning hair stylist, and published model. A fierce woman with many accolades in her career, Myrnelle was more than an artist. She worked with world class brands as an educator and ambassador, and as a lead stylist at notable luxury salons where she built a diverse client base and stellar reputation. After winning best hair stylist in Miami, she built her own business and opened her own hair salon Journey Hair For Life. She was incredibly entrepreneurial, independent, hard-working, and gifted in beauty. She consistently worked 9–12-hour days, without breaks, dressed to the nine, and always while giving an insightful therapy session/motivational pep talk and on occasion much-needed tough love. Myrnelle had boundless empathy and the extraordinary ability to read people and understand their personality. She was always there to listen, mend broken hearts, speak kind words, or help anyone who needed it. Myrnelle was loved by many of her clients, and she loved them in return. And then she met the love of her life Bradley Flink. One night in 2018, at the Anderson Bar, on a night neither of them we’re supposed to be there, Brad and Myrnelle serendipitously meet. Brad eventually wore Myrnelle down with his awkward charisma, and the next day Brad and Myrnelle were on their first date. They never looked back and the rest is history. The two embarked on a journey that would change their lives forever. They loved one another unconditionally. Her resilience in the face of adversity inspired him and all those around her. Combating a cancer diagnosis and countless hours spent in the hospital, she never complained. She strived to make the most out of the time she had. She loved her adorable Pomeranian Ramsey. She enjoyed spending time with friends, going to restaurants and parties, traveling and having novel experiences. One page will never be enough to describe the beautiful soul she was and how she touched those closest to her. She was loved, respected, and admired. She is survived by her husband Bradley, her siblings Andy, Kamini, Judy, Dianne, Michelle, and Terrance, and her mother Monica.
