Fania Porcena-Oge

Our beloved mother Fania Porcena Oge, entered eternal rest on February 27, 2025. She was woman of strength, love, faith and unwavering devotion to her family. She was born on May 1, 1954, in Saint-Jean-du-Sud, (Aux Cayes) Haiti. She was the cherished daughter of Velice Porcena Oge and Charitese Formond. Growing up in a lively household of ten brothers and sisters. Fania learned early on the importance of family, resilience, and hard work values she carried throughout her life. Fania spent her early years in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where she made a living selling goods at the open markets, always determined to provide for her loved ones. In July of 1981, she took a courageous step toward a new life and emigrated to Miami, Florida. Where she was a dedicated homemaker. She was a woman of quiet strength, making every house she touched a home filled with warmth, love, and laughter. For 38 years, Fania shared her life with her devoted partner, Gola Naissance, building a family rooted in love and togetherness. She was a proud and nurturing mother to her five children: Johanne, Martine, Luisa, Ricardo, and Cory. Her heart was even fuller with the joy of being a grandmother to Isaiah, Isaac, Ansy, Violet, Dylan, and Mia, each of whom she adored beyond words. Her love extended to her sons-in-law, Gilbert Pierrevile and Alridge Merisier, who became part of her family in every way. Fania’s love extended far beyond her immediate family, she leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, stepsons, and dear friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity. She was the heart of every gathering, always ensuring those around her felt welcomed and loved. Fania was the heart and soul of her family. A woman whose love was felt in the meals she prepared, the advice she gave, and the warm embrace she always had ready. She lived a life of selflessness, always putting others before herself. She found joy in the simple things, gathering with family, sharing stories, and watching her grandchildren grow. Though she is no longer with us, her love remains woven into the lives she touched. Her legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her faith carried her through life’s challenges with grace. Mommy, you were our guiding light, our safe place, and our greatest blessing. You will forever be in our heart
