Cyntha Mae Davis

Cynthia Mae Davis, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, at the age of 82. Cynthia was born on August 8, 1941, in Miami, Florida, to the loving embrace of her parents, Florence Mildred Ferguson, hailing from the Bahamas, and Christie Palmer of Turks and Caicos. Her life was a testament to her strength, dedication, and unconditional love. She was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, a milestone that marked the beginning of her lifelong commitment to serving others. Throughout her professional career as a nurse, Cynthia embodied the essence of care and compassion. Her nurturing spirit and innate ability to comfort those in need made her a cherished presence in the community and facilities where she served, including Jackson Hospital. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Cynthia’s impact extended far and wide. She was a natural-born nurturer, not only in her professional capacity but also within her family and friends. Her love knew no bounds, and she showered those around her with her giving spirit, kindness, and unwavering support. Cynthia retired in 2008 and she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a fondness for reading the newspaper, keeping up with current events, and watching sports. She had a flair for fashion, enjoying the thrill of shopping and dressing well. Cynthia also knew how to let loose and enjoy herself, often being the life of the party with her humor. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Florence Mildred Ferguson and Christie Palmer, her brother Samuel Ferguson, and sister, Ruth “Penny” Ferguson. She is survived by her ex-husband and father of her children, Robert H. Davis; children Robert C. Davis and Keith A. Davis; grandchildren Niurka Davis, Kia Chambers-Boedo, Keisha King, Quri Davis, Keith Davis II, Shawanda Davis, Shatorria Davis, Eldric Swain and a host of great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Cynthia Mae Davis will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. May she rest in eternal peace, knowing that her love and generosity lives on in the hearts of all who were touched by her remarkable spirit.
